Friends

So, tonight I finally told my close friend about my having wls sometime in the next 2 months. I was so nervous about the feedback. To my amazement, I received tons of love and support! -sigh- what a relief!

It feels great to get support doesn't it! I've found that most people who matter to me know how miserable I was before surgery and support me. Those that don't matter I don't really care what they think!

That's wonderful. I have a friend who's about my size and when I told her, I explained my concern about all the stories i hear on here about people losing their overweight friends when they lose weight. I told her that our friendship was important and if she feels that way at any point, please talk to me. After the tears all around, there were hugs and I felt good about the conversation. I know it may turn out differently, but I feel like I have prepared well.
