For 20 years I have been getting together a couple times a year with a group of friends to play cards, shoot the breeze and have a great time. They decided to come to my place this weekend because they did not know how I was going to feel at seven weeks out from surgery. The weekend usually revolves around food and beverage and this time was no different. That said, I was a good host, kept them fed well while managing to stay on my plan to the letter. Then, this morning, I sent them all home with the leftovers! I can do this and am getting stronger every day...

Congrats!

It also gets easier the further out you get, but it's good that you're practicing some new habits. angry

Good for you! I have found that I have absolutely no trouble being right in the center of food oriented events. I simply focus on the fun and being social. I don't want my choice to have this surgery to limit my interactions with my friends and loved ones and they are still able to enjoy the food aspect of such events... it's up to me to make it work for my new lifestyle. I just make sure I make or bring a dish I KNOW I can eat while I am there. You are off to a great start! Congrats!
