Scratchy throat today, surgery on Wed.

So, fiddlesticks.

I am apparently developing a cold.  Scratchy throat started last night, even worse today.  I know my immune system is not up to par with a clear liquid diet.   I drank some Emergen-C this morning, though not entirely sugar free.  I am bundled up while inside, trying to raise my body temperature to fight off the invaders.  I'm so worried this will get worse and I'll have to reschedule my Wednesday surgery, which would suck because FIL is flying in from Germany to help me, DH has re-arranged a business trip so he can stay with kiddos while I'm in the hospital.

This is not good.

ut oh!  I hope you get better quick!  I had a bit of a scratchy throat on the days leading up to my surgery and on the day of my surgery.  I kept my mouth shut and apparently my throat didn't show anything.

I had a head cold when I had my surgery too. I called my surgeon and she said as long as I wasn't running fever at the time of surgery, I'd be fine. I had that head cold for almost 5 days during post-op, not fun, but I did ok. Sip warm water to help get the mucous out of your pouch post-op. Good luck! 

No need to cancel a surgery for a cold - UNLESS you have some sort of secondary infection!   A cold lasts 3-5 days so will be pretty much over by the time your surgery comes around ...
