Calzone
So my husband and me were talking about ricotta cheese it has become my obsession. I can't wait to try some when puréed foods are allowed. So he said if we went out for pizza could you order a calzone and cut it open and eat the cheese inside and dip it in the sauce? I said I would think so but I got to thinking they put mozzarella and ricotta in them and sometimes some meats. I guess down the road the meats would be a great source of protein. But would the mozzarella and ricotta be ok? Or is mozzarella discouraged because it is so stringy?

Ahh never thought of that they probably only have full fat. I will kill that idea. I am so glad I can run my questions by everyone here.

I don't use the low fat versions of cheeses -- yuck. If its going to be an occasional thing, I don't see why you couldn't have the inside of a calzone. The hard part for me would be ordering it but not touching the yummy crust. On the rare occasions that we have ordered pizza, I just eat the meat, cheese and sauce off the top. I try not to do this often, because I don't feel mentally satisfied with this as my meal, even though it fills me up just fine.
That is what my friend who used our surgeon does she just eats the toppings. I could pass up the crusty part of the calzone no problem. I have a obsession with ricotta LOL. I saw eggface's ricotta bake and tried it a few times pre op I told my family I will. Never make lasagna again. You get the taste minus the carbs in the noodles.....they think I am playing I AM NOT!
