Pureed Food Question
I gained 115 pounds in the hospital (surgery was 3/13) and today I have officially lost the 15 plus 5 pounds, so I am saying I am 5 pounds down from my starting weight in 9 days.
My dietician called me yesterday to check on me and I mentioned that I would be starting a week of pureed foods today and asked what amount was considered a meal of pureed foods and she said one tablespoon. I asked her again to make sure I was hearing properly. Have any of you ever had that small a serving? It is sort of like "Why bother?" I guess my nerves were cut as at the moment I am never hungry and have to remind myself to eat.
Just wondering what you all had for portions of pureed foods. I am preparing to make a pot of turkey chili and puree some for me and I have a package of boneless, skinless chicken thighs and will make some Chinese Orange Chicken for my husband and puree some plain with a little broth for me and freeze the rest for my two weeks of soft foods. I have refried beans and a lot of cheese on hand.
You might want to edit the first sentence in your post. I just about fell out of my chair when you said you gained 115 pounds in the hospital!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't had my surgery yet so I can't comment on your question, sorry.
