Hate to ask.....is there anything that would cause diahrea at 5 months that I should worry...
So I'm usually very regular, twice a day before lunch, not loose.
two days ago I started having basically straight liquid bowel movements, no pain no cramps but had the forethought to not fart- had I it would have been bad!! Stopped that afternoon/evening but then returned with a vengeance next morning, ended up taking some Imodium and seemed fine, woke up this morning and same thing, straight liquid and lots of it but more urgent than before.
its now 11.30 pm and it won't let up as soon as I get back in bed I'm back to the bathroom and now I'm nauseas and heaving as well- I can't vomit- so is there anything I should be concerned about that would warrant the ER-NOT my favourite place, or do I just try sit it out??
thanks guys xx
Maybe just a stomach bug? Don't forget, you can still get sick. Not everything is related to the surgery. I hope you feel better soon!!

Hey, thanks- not good stops during the day but is unbelievable at night/first thing in the morning, it's Monday morning here now so trying to get into a dr, it seems to have aggrevated the smallish hernia I had which is now not so smallish- fingers crossed I can get in and get it sorted!
Yes, as the other responder said, just having had RNY doesn't make everything related to your digestive system an emergency and doesn't exempt you from the same kinds of intestinal issues that you periodically might have had before surgery. You probably simply have either a bug of some kind (there are LOTS of them going around right now) or ate something that did not agree with you. Increase your fluids so you stay hydrated, eat easily digested foods, and if it continues see your PCP.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Thanks lora
i don't think I worded my question very we'll- I realise we can still get basic gastro my concern, which I think given what happened previously with me is valid, is that what I was experiencing could be the symptoms of something larger, compacted bowel, twisted or herniated something?? By the time I wrote this I think I was already extremely dehydrated which was more than likely where the heaving came in and I didn't want to call the surgeon just to say I have xyz which was why I asked on here if there was the possibility of it being something bigger than a bug. Thankfully I got a few hours sleep and hopefully whatever it is has chilled out today!!
Sounds exactly the stomach bug that just ripped through my household. Good grief, I ached so bad with mine that I thought I'd been hit by a truck. Husband had it tuesday, me thursday and both boys thursday night and friday. It was swift, but nasty! Hope you feel better soon! Keep trying those fluids!
