OT-Life changes - Kind of long!

I have not posted for a while because I usually post on my breaks at work, but haven't had time lately to do more than browse comments of others.

Today my scale finally moved again! I have been in my first "real" stall since surgery, not bad since I am 10 months out, but still frustrating. So after about 4 weeks my scale finally showed me dropping a pound this morning, down to 218 loss of 134! I am hoping to be in onderland before my 1 year appointment, but that is lot of weight to expect to lose before May, so I really understand that the likely hood of being in onderland for that appointment may not be achieved, but I am okay with that too because I am not going to set myself up for disappointment by thinking that is a reachable goal when my weight loss has slowed at this time. I am following my plan, taking my vitamins, getting in my protein, so I just have to be persistent and see what happens.

On to the next life change, I finally have gotten a new job! I have wanted to change jobs for a while now because my current company has proven that it is very difficult to advance into higher roles within the company and I want my career to advance not to be put into a role and remain there for the rest of my career. This change came about very quickly, I was called out of the blue by a company I had previously interviewed for and was not hired, well they had another position open (a new position they created) and called me because I was who they wanted for the position. So needless to say I start my new job on Monday! Which means more money and no more commuting!!

As NSV's go there have been so many! I think this week alone 3 people have told me that I am getting skinny and they didn't think I needed to lose anymore weight. Well at 5'8" and 218lbs I am by no means skinny and skinny is not the goal to be at a healthy weight is the goal, but that is sometimes hard to explain to people who have not been there.

Finding so many places I can sit without worrying about how I will fit in the chair, had to be in meetings this week and the folding chairs were actually more comfortable that I remember and my body fit on them without hanging over the edge!

Went shopping and it is still hard to wrap my head around the fact that I no longer have to buy 5X and 4X shirts, I held a 5X shirt up to me the other day in the store and it could have been a nightgown or a dress on me, that was a NSV for sure, when I see a visual like that it really puts things into perspective.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings, have a good day! I am headed to my last day in my current job, so it will probably be a long day for me!!!

It will hurt. It will take time. It will require dedication. It will require willpower. It requires sacrifice. There will be temptation. But, I promise you, when you reach your goal, it's WORTH IT! (Author Unknown). I feel this sums up my ongoing journey to a healthier me!

Congratulations on the new job.  It sounds like you are doing great with your weight loss.  Are you exercising?  Regular exercise, cardio and weight training, really helped me not only physically but mentally as well.  It has also kept the weight off with no regain.
