Laura if you don't mind me asking, how did you get your ulcer? Or did it just happen? Just wondering cause your surgery was only a few weeks before mine.

We honestly have no idea yet but your at a much higher risk if you smoke, take NSAID's, or drink alcohol and i have been in agony since! I've been dealing with this ulcer/s for over 2 weeks now. Whatever you do proceed with caution cause i would hate for you to have to go through this pain as well.

Oh, I'm most definitely not going to anytime in the near future. I will probably ask my doctor next time I see her which isn't for a while. I have definitely read up on the causes of ulcers so I'm staying clear of all those things. Are you on any kind of antacid? My doctor has me on Pepcid 2x a day

Have you considered edibles? Better for your lungs, better for your pouch, but still have the same results. Just a thought!

As a nurse, I wished pot was legal here in Texas. It is so good for many illnesses. It does not have the same side effects that many pain killers have on the body and organs. It causes less death than alcohol and would be great for some of my Hospice patients for their anxiety and pain.

I have no idea about smoking it with a pouch though. =D

Medical marijuana is legal here in Oregon and you can't throw a rock without hitting 5 people with a medical marijuana card so it does tend to be abused around here.  Some doctors hand them out for anything but I have lost 2 friends recently who had cancer and they both said that marijuana made their life so much better in the end.  I am glad that they were able to find some relief from their horrible pain.

I wi**** were too!!!! I don't smoke but I have had to get some weed for a friend of my parents! She has Lupus ( I believe) and it is not legal in NC but it really helps her :-/ I hate that people who could benefit from it are not always able to get it.

Medical MJ is legal here in AZ. I've been so ANTI MJ my whole life that it's hard to overcome. I actually have two different separate conditions that qualify me, and a third that I was diagnosed with this week. The effect of narcotic pain meds on my digestive system are fairly devastating not to mention the loss of mental acuity. Knowing that it's legal, and that it might help me, at least at home after a hard day of work tempts me.
