I'm 6 days out from surgery and today I just don't want to get out of bed , I had a bad day yesterday almost passing out in a store did to much to soon and today I'm just so comfy under my covers I just don't want yo move. Does anyone else feel this way, and is it bad if I have a lazy day

Listen to your body.  It will tell you when it needs rest.  Nothing helps healing better than rest.  Good luck.

I am 4'weeks out and feel that I can't get enough sleep. I'm sleeping till 9-10 and then at 7 feel exhausted. I think it's partly to do with the lack of food. As the weeks have passed I have had less naps. It will get better the more active you are.

Cheers,

I had the same surgery date as you, and I'm feeling about the same way you are.  All I want to do is sleep.  I think we need to remember that we just had major surgery and not expect ourselves to bounce back so quickly.  I don't think we'd expect anyone else who had major surgery to be up zooming around, so why are we expecting it of ourselves?  We're our own worst enemies.

Get up and walk around the house for 5 minutes every hour and then crawl back into bed. Best of both worlds.

Enjoy a day of rest - as previous posted mentioned, get up every so often and walk for a few mins.  Keep your liquids beside you and sip, sip, sip.

take a lazy day. I took several in the first couple of months. It's not going to hurt you. When you do get up to go the bathroom just make a couple laps around the house and go back to bed. Make sure you are getting your water in though or you could feel worse.

I'd say be lazy for a while but please do walk some and use your spirometer! You don't want blood clots and/or pneumonia! I was told walk walk walk, sip sip sip, breathe breathe breathe the first 2 weeks. I have a friend that died from multiple blood clots in her lungs and brain because of having to be off her feet for only a week due to a broken ankle. I feel ya- I had surgery the 9th and I wanna lay around too but after what happened to my friend I am PARANOID! So just be careful!
