It has been a while since I have posted and a SV!
I have been busy settling into my new job so I haven't had much time to post, but I have been lurking in the background when I can. I also have been dealing with my first true stall since surgery in May 2012, I have been very fortunate not to hit long stalls like many do, I have had a week or two here and there, but we all know that is not a true stall. However about a 6 weeks ago I did hit a true stall and no matter what I did my scale would not budge so I tried everything changed my routines (eating and exercise), but nothing seemed to help, finally I even stopped my weekly weigh in and ignored my scale for a few weeks. Well this morning I finally decided to weigh again and found I have now lost 3 more lbs, so my stall is finally broken. 55 lbs to go to my Dr's goal! I would actually like to drop 20 past that but if I don't I am good with my Dr.'s goal after all my main goal is my health and how I feel not so much the numbers on the scale, but have to admit I do want to see them to continue to drop. Next goal though is to finally drop below 200 and join the onderland club!
Cindy! My Surgery Buddy! How are you? I had a good drop this morning too, finally! 3 pounds too! Sorry to hear you've had a stall but also glad to hear I'm normal! LOL :) if there is such a thing! I'd like to lose 13 before my 1 year check up in about 6 weeks and a few days but I feel so amazing better, I'm just over the moon with how much more that I can do....just a mental thing for me, wanted to hit 150 down within the first year.
Good to see you, i'm really trying to motivate myself and exercise everyday before i go back to the doctor....that in his contract when you sign up for surgery and I want to be doing what I promised to do! Well he wants 5 days a week...so, that's my goal...hopefully more! :)
Take care!
Sherry
As you found out, sometimes you just have to wait a stall out. I think it is great that you took care of your psychological/emotional health by taking a break from the scale that was not budging.
Sometimes doctor's goals are right on target and sometimes they are conservative (and sometimes they are much too conservative). I can understand a doctor trying not t build a patient's hopes up in case they don't lose all of the excess weight (some simply don't, or find that if they force their weight down a few more pounds with severe caloric restriction or insane exercise, they gain the extra bit back as soon as they start eating a more normal amount and not exercising like a fiend), but you may very well be able to lose more.
