Early lab work

well i am 7 weeks out and had some fasting blood work by my primary doctor. I am so pleased my Cholesterol went from 245 in Sept of last year down to 185. I had one of my blood pressure meds doses cut in half. One of the liver tests was elevated but he thinks it is cause of the rapid weight loss, i am down 57 pounds. I have to have it redone in 2 weeks,same goes for my gluclose which is up a couple points.

Has anyone had this happen with the liver tests being a bit high?

Sounds very good. My surgeon does my blood work at 3 month intervals so I'm not quite there yet. However, my blood pressure that was starting to elevate before surgery is now generally a nearly perfect 120/80 all the time. The 120 goes up/down +/- 5 or 6 and the same for the 80. Before surgery I was getting high 130's - 160 over high 80's to high 90's. Much better now. I was just getting on my PCP's radar for blood pressure meds.

It's very common in the first year after surgery.

The high liver enzymes can very well be due to rapid weight loss.  If you search the forums here, you can see it's been a fairly common concern for those early out of surgery.   You do need to be aware and watch just don't freak out about it.....as Kim said usually the first year of surgery this happens to many.
