Prednizone
So, awhile back I posted about a rash I had. Well, my PCM put me on a 10 day run of prednizone, the rash went away. The day after I took my last dose, the darn thing CAME BACK *sigh*
So, I went in again yesterday. Because it is some kind of 'contact dermatitis (sp?)' and it's not spreading on me, or contagious to others. All I care about at this point is the insane itching!
So, he put me on ATARAX and a RX topical cream to see if it will help at all with the itch. (it is not working so far and its been 24 hrs).
Here is both mine and my PCM's problem. If this doesn't work, he is going to do the 28 day run of the prednizone-because it went away with the first run, he thinks it just wasn't enough dose in my system to completely kill it. He (and me too) are afraid that at this point in my journey it will seriously cause me issues. Since it causes increase in apetite, water retention and a boatload of other joyful side effects (not the least is the temper...the kids and hubby barely survived the 10 day run! lol).
So, I guess my question is...at this point (around 3 months post-op) how bad will it be if we have to go that route? Anyone happen to have any personal experience with it after WLS? If by Wednesday teh itching and rash are still here he is putting in the script.
Thanks so much!
Jenn
