2nd day post-op question.

I am just wondering if any of you experienced bad leg and back pain post op? I expected insicisions to be tender but my legs and back hurt more. Just want to know if I am normal....

I had hip pain after surgery, when lying down.  It was from time spent on the (hard, uncushioned) operating table, per my docs.

That makes sense, I bet that's what it is. Thanks for the heads up.

Lower back pain for the first few days!!!  I just could not get comfortable, I just kept taking the Tylenol 3 at night and it at least helped me sleep. I was blaming the horrible hospital bed for my aching back, but maybe its just normal.

Thanks for replying. I am on liquid lortab for now so hopefully it will help. Other than this pain I seem to be doing okay. I ended up having a hernia I didn't even know I had removed too so considering that I feel I am doing pretty well.

i also had my surgery on monday but i feel so much pain in that upper left side that i cannot move around as much.  i feel like ive had a buffet meal and the pain is a burning deep pain.

From what I have read here it seems left side pain is pretty typical and can last a couple of weeks. Hang in there and good luck
