WHY IS IT SO HARD TO POST PICS---IT KEEPS SAYING TO BIG BUT I EVEN TRIED DOWN SIZING THEM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO

They cannot be larger then 100x100 pixels. You need to make the avatar that exact size. There are websites to help you create avatars, google them.
