STALL, PLATEAU.....STUCK!

Hi all...I had my RNY on June 3. Lost 14 per op and then another 12 in the two weeks post op..and nothing since! I have heard of the 3 week stall but only moly...how long does it last? I have been the same since 6/14.... Any advice??

Mine was June 4th I weighed the same for about 4 days (wouldnt call it a stall really)   then dropped 2 lbs.  I dont think they really consider it a stall until its been at least a few weeks.  I think its normal right now.  Our bodies have to readjust to all the fulid changes and healing.  It will start up again just keep walking and staying on plan!

Good Luck!  By the way 12lbs in 14 days is AMAZING!

I know it sucks but its just a small part of this big journey we are on!

Thanks...just shocked at the same weight for 8 whole days....trying to not be discouraged...

maybe try changing up a day meaning if your walking a lot take a break day or if your not doing much trying taking a longer walk. It may spur something.  I had a day where I went from walking 3 miles to walking 1 mile and swimming and that popped me over. Maybe just a small change to get your body moving again.

I had my RNY on the 4th of June. I did not have a pre-op diet and only lost 14 pounds so far. But... I am feeling so much " lighter" since I am not feeling guilty because of my over-eating anymore. I am trying not to obsess to much on the weight loss but to focus on my health.

I was the same weight for the first 7 days then lost a lot, last week I was the same weight again for 7 days and now I am down almost 3 pounds total. I think it is just your body trying to play catch up. If the scale isn't moving you might try measuring yourself. You will see results that way too. Your body needs time to recover from all the weight that has come off. Just give it some time. before you know it the scale will move again!

I had 2 really big stalls and am now finally starting to really lose.  I have lost 7 pounds in the last week.  Hang in there... It gets better.  I still feel like I am behind everyone else, but I'm down 56 pounds since starting my preop and 38 since surgery.  My first stall lasted 2 weeks.  I started at 308 and was 290 at surgery. My first stall was at 276 pounds and my second was at 267.  Don't get discouraged.. Just keep following your plan and it will come off!

Stay off the scale if it is going to drive you crazy. This is a marathon, not a sprint.
