How much can I lose?

I have a question. So I started out 14 months ago at 374 lbs. now I weigh 230. My surgeon and dietitian say I have 4 months left of my honeymoon period. That means 4 months left to where the weight will keep coming off like it has been since surgery. So my question is, how much can I lose in 4 months? Can I reach my goal at 150? Or at LEAST to 180? Is it possible? I sure do hope so!

There are several ladies here that have kept on losing after the "Honeymoon" period. Nobody really knows when that will stop for you. It is more or a gradual slow down than a set time. You may have to work harder at it, but you can keep losing longer than 18 months.

Just because I don't want you to slam into the brick wall of disappointment I'm going to be brutally honest:

You aren't going to hit 180 in four months, much less 150.

What did you lose last month?  Two months ago?  Those are the kinds of losses you can expect over the next few months.  Even then, we all know the losses slow down the further out you get.  In order to hit those numbers you would have to lose weight faster than you have so far and that's just not going to happen.

In 14 months you've lost 144 pounds, an average of about 10.5 pounds a month. BUT, if you're like 98% of people, you lost a LOT of that during the first 6 months. How many pounds did you lose last month? The month before?

In order to lose 50 pounds in the next four months you'd need to lose 12.5 pounds per month. To get all the way to 150, you'd have to lose 20 pounds a month. Ain't gonna happen.

BUT---there's no magic door that slams shut when you reach 18 months post-op. Many, many people take 2-3 years to completely stop losing.

Look at how far you have come!  You must be doing things right and if you keep it up the weight will come off.  It may take longer but you can do it.  Good going.  I haven't had my surgery yet - scheduled for July 30th so definitely not an "authority" just believe you can do it!

I agree with everything said so far. If you follow the diet plan there is no limit to what you can lose.
