Quest Bars & Traveling Abroad
Hi all,
I really don't eat protein bars, I think I've had one since my surgery and it was split in half and eaten on two different days.. Anyway, I am leaving August 4th for London and will be gone for two weeks. I have friends traveling with me this time and our schedule is already jam packed with activities to fill our day. I plan to do a shake (2 scoops) in the morning, but will probably need to keep a protein bar on hand most days. I have only tried the Peanut Butter & Jelly Quest bars, and they are good enough, but would like to know which other flavors are tasty. I may get a variety pack ahead of time, but I really don't want to eat them before I go (I try to keep them for "emergency" protein only).
Also, does anyone have any experience bringing protein powder abroad? and the best way to pack it so it does look suspicious? I know this must sound insane, but I am so paranoid about going through customs and there being a problem!
Have a wonderful evening

My very, very favorite bars are the Detour low sugar 15g protein bars. They are YUM...all three flavors I have tried are just SUPER!
You will find the yogurt in London to be SPECTACULAR! Even the store brand as Tesco is just yummmmm! And the cheeses--YUMMMMM!
Enjoy, one of my very favorite cities!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
Thanks! I've actually been several times (my boyfriend lives there), but this time we are doing several day trips out of the city, so I want to be prepared with the bars. I'll have a look at the Detour bars, thanks again for the suggestion :)
As a Londoner (I was born there) who goes back at least once a year, be assured that it is wholly possible to eat well there. We are NOT a third world country LOL
However, if you want to pack protein bars or powder, just put the majority of them in your checked luggage and you will have no problem ...
Part of my excitement of going back is the ability to eat good food (better than I can get here - if a LOT more expensive because of the quality ...)
Nothing to offer on bars or shakes as I have never had either ...
Have a great trip.
