I love a good wad of bubble gum every now and then.  But for dry mouth, carry a bottle of water.....and if you run out of water, Altoids worked good for me.

sugar free altoids are one of my best friends right now.  Haven't tried gum yet.  Figure I'll wait a few months.

all day every day. I have never had an issue with it.

I fight badgers with spoons.

I chew gum occasionally. Sometimes it is the only way I can avoid drinking for an hour after eating. It doesn't cause any issues for me, but everyone is different.

I was also told not to chew gum because if air, even though I know it's not possible. But I am not a gum chewer, so I don't miss it. I did use mints for the bad breath though.

I don't chew gum often, but only because it agrevates my TMJ. My surgeon recommended avoiding it early on due to possibly contributing to excess gas. I did have lots of uncomfortable abdominal gas... but it has gotten much better. Not sure why, but not complaining! I use gas ex if I eat something gassy... like chili with a lot of beans, or sauerkraut, or whatever.
I also drink from a straw with no noticeable excess gas, but avoided it early out.

We chew gum all the time (my husband is almost an addict) and our surgeon does not have an issue with it. Or straws.

:)

If it causes issues, don't chew it. Easy as that.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
