Weighing and Measuring?
Some people find it easier to weigh things like meat. Knowing how many ounces, by weight, of chicken you have makes it easy to figure out how many calories and how many grams of protein are in it. You may have trouble looking up how much protein is in one cup of chicken but you'll see something like three ounces (by weight) has 21 grams of protein. Plus, how do you measure chicken by volume? Stuff a piece of chicken breast in a measuring cup?
I have always measured by volume, though. Your pouch holds a certain volume. There is no scale in there to know what something weighs, it just knows how big something is. When I've had food that doesn't fit easily into a measuring cup, I've just guessed if it would fill up one cup if it was squished in there.

My program is huge about preparation and education. I'm shocked by how many people come out of surgery knowing little to nothing about post-op living.
Nothing against the OP. This is a forum for all kinds of questions, so please don't hesitate to ask. The vets have all been extremely helpful, as far as I can see.
I purchased one a couple of years ago and love it. Thinking it will be so useful after surgery on 7/30 - yeah its so close! The best feature is the tare since I can put any dish on it and zero that out and get a weight on just the food. It also has a code you can put in for different foods and it will give you the calories as well. Wi**** would do that for protein as well. This one was actually on QVC by Taylor but I've seen it in Walmart recently for about $30
