Bra after surgery
I didn't wear a bra in the hospital because I had the heart monitor pads all over. My nurse said the surgeon made my incisions lower than he usually does. I wore a sports bra once I was disconnected from the heart monitor when I was released. I was concerned about the top incision, but it turned out to be below the bra line.
I had open surgery (and it was planned open), so I bought an inexpensive, front closing "leisure" bra that was surprisingly supportive even for my enormous boobs, but didn't put any pressure on my ribcage at all. I got it from Woman Within online. It came in handy when recuperating as well. I still had support without being uncomfortable.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I couldn't wear a bra for the first two weeks, my largest lap site (upper left near ribcage) was really painful and any pressure against that area (not just the incision but the general area of it) made it hurt terribly. But again, bring a bra anyway because not everyone experiences the same aches and pains of surgery!
No bra here. Like many others I have a lap incision too close to wear it would rub.

My blog about my journey - Up From Under
My I.V. Was in until I was discharged so there was no way to put on a bra anyway! But I did wear a sportsbra for the ride home. I am 2 1/2 weeks ost op and I go bra less most of the time. Unless I go out. All of my incisions are above the belly button, 1 right under my boobs and I don't want anything touching me. It is still all tender.
