How can you tell?

When your stomach gets upset how can you tell what caused it? I tried a 93% lean hamburger the other night (talked to my nut and she said it was ok to try) and I had a horrible stomach pain followed by a few trips to the bathroom (didn't throw it up) I am not sure what caused it though, was it that my pouch just wasn't ready for it, did I eat it too fast, did I eat too much of it. How do you tell the difference?

Since then I have lost all interest in food and am barely eating. Anyone else experience this?

I think the only way to really tell is have the same food with the same reaction.   So many thing can cause a digestive issue.   In the early days post surgery if something didn't sit well, I knew right away and I usually wound up vomitting.  I didn't have much that ran through me like you describe.

Sorry you had a bad experience with the burger. Maybe it was too soon for that kind of meat. Wait for a few weeks and maybe try it again. I know some people dont eat meat for a few months after surgery. Hope your doing ok. Keep up the good work!!

Thanks, I def won't be trying that again for awhile. I seem to handle turkey ok. I have had turkey meatballs with no problem. I think I was actually getting a little bit ****y because all the food I was trying never caused any problems. This knocked me back down to reality and was a reminder to me I am still early on in the process.

If it happens on the same food over and over it's the food. For me though it's because I didn't chew something well enough and/or took too big a bite.
