Eating on the run
I always try to bring a protein bar or something, but today i was travelling longer than planned. I ended up eating a chicken strip from Wendy's - figured it was one of the lesser of all the evils.
But I'm going back to school in the fall and have back to back classes so I'm trying to figure out some good portable options. Btw i hate most cold things, like deli meats, eggs, etc.
Would love some ideas from everyone!
Thanks
I love the stuff from trader joes! They have lots of stuff you can take with, like curry chicken, tuna salad, chicken salad and more.
I also carry beef jerky and nuts with me, just in case.

I keep nuts in the car for an emergency. I recently went on vacation and packed my snack bag full of nuts, water, protein bars, yogurt, and string cheese. I also have go to items at fast food places in an emergency. Most have grilled chicken, chili, or beans. The people at Wendy's think I am strange for ordering chili in 104 weather, but it works and keeps me on track.
What do you normally eat for lunch? Can you pack it in an insulated lunch box and eat it between classes?
I pack a lunch and snacks, but I've been in cir****tances where I've had to eat on the run and grab something.
If I have time, I'll get a salad at Panera. Or I will get a burrito bowl from Chipoltle.. Both of those can be split into at least two meals for me.
At Wendy's the Chili is high protein, no carbs. At TacoBell, I order Pintos and Cheese and have them add a scoop of chicken to it.
At work we have a Subway, so I will get a 6 inch flatbread sub, but mostly just eat the meat and veggies and leave the flatbread.
All in all, every one of the these things is hard to eat running in the car...but I make it work because I don't want to eat something fried or on bread.

I travel a lot for work. My favorite thing to bring is the premixed tuna salad in a can that comes with crackers. It travels well, is easy to eat anywhere and is high in protein. Sometimes I'll hit McDonalds and have a grilled chicken snack wrap--17 grams of protein and about 170 calories (of course, I pull a lot of the wrap off and toss it). Protein bars are always in my purse but sometimes they just stay there!
When you start school, they should have a microwave for you to be able to warm up some hot food since cold things don't work for you. One non-fridge food I like is PB2 spread on a low carb tortilla (50 calories, 5 grams protein and 7 fiber) with a little bit of smuckers fruit spread on it. It's good, easy and healthy.
