Dr Sosa in South Florida reportedly the best here states that patients are not hungry.  That is definitely NOT true for me.  What is your experience.

I get hungry and I am not quite a year out.  I try to eat small amounts every 2-3 hours.

Unless he's performing a different method for his surgery, I can't see how the surgeon makes any difference ...   I think "hunger" is mainly perception.

I read some people's menus who say they never feel hunger and I think "no wonder!"   I definitely do feel when my BS gets low and I NEED to eat but not sure that I even know what hunger is at this point?

Sure I get hungry.  Most RNY folks do, though some don't for the first few months after surgery.

I don't feel hunger pains like I used to. I just know the feeling that I now get when I know I need to eat. If I ignore it, I end up shaky.

I'm just under a week out and haven't felt hunger yet... I have been around some amazingly delicious smelling food and had a craving... but it wasn't hunger. Someone told me that if you're hungry for a specific thing... That that's "head hunger" or a craving... still sucky, but not really hunger...

I didn't feel hunger for the first year or so.  Now I do.  My personality changes when I get hungry.  (according to those around me.  I don't see a problem.)  I also get shaky.

I am 8wks out and I do get hungry but I'm quickly filled up and I don't get hungry between meals or anything just if something comes up and I haven't been able to eat
