most times. I had some good advice on here last time I asked (about a month ago), to have the doc check my blood pressure sitting & then standing, but it was normal. Could it be anything else ??

Your heart is a pump and it had to work harder to pump your blood when you weighed more.  As you lose weight the pump slows down and your blood pressure goes down.  When you sit for a while the blood pools in your legs.  If you stand up quickly the blood sometimes does not have time to get to your head and you get dizzy.

Before you stand up, take a few seconds and pump your legs to get the blood flowing again.  This all sorts itself out after a few months and the blood pressure adjusts.  When  that happens you won't get dizzy on standing.

Thanks for your question because I'm experiencing that too!

I also have orthostatic hypotension. The best things you can do is increase your hydration, preferably something with added electrolytes. You can add more salt to your diet. And stand up gradually and slowly.

I am 8 & 1/2 months out and still experience this. I notice if I sit with my legs crossed it happens more frequently. It also happens when I get up after laying down.

I get this occasionally still but far less than early on. Three things I would recommend...first, when standing up get into a habit of holding onto something for about 10 seconds and it will lessen the dizzyness...second, as has already been recommended, stay hydrated, I like to have a couple sobe waters, power aid zero's or zero waters with the electrolytes a day...third, I have far less of it with exercise!

I get really bad if I have less than 80 oz to drink. Almost to the point of passing out, and sometimes experience something between extreme weakness and seizures. I'm seeing my pcp about this on Thursday (that's when I can afford it).

I'm going to ask her to order labs and I'm sure she'll do the blood pressure. My last bp was 108/70 which is low for me but not anywhere near as low as I've seen on here. It almost exclusively happens at home. I might get the occasional mild dizziness at work.

I did have over 90 oz the other day and still got really dizzy the next morning. I've seen that you should have 1/2 oz to 1 oz of water for every pound you weigh. I don't know how true that is. That would be at least 109 oz for me. I could probably drink that much, but what about bigger people?

You most likely need more minerals and salt..electrolytes..we don't get enough salt in our diet. We need salt to keep water in our system
