Food No- No's ?
Hi
I seem to have a problem with hamburger (without the bun) and fried eggs.

I still have some trouble with eggs. I can eat about a half an egg (scrambled or fried or whatever). I think they're too rich for my tummy.
I absolutely cannot eat ANY frozen yogurt type stuff. Oh my gosh, my body is completely repulsed by it. I think my body has become so smart post-op. It knows complete & utter junk from 50 paces. I think that frozen yogurt (Zinga, Crave, Sweet Frog) is all chemicals & sugar (even the "sugar-free" selections).
I haven't thrown up since my surgery (except for the foamies while I was in the hospital post-op after I took my anti-depression meds crushed) but I've had a handful of episodes where I was completely miserable. 2 of these episodes involved the dreaded frozen yogurt.
I can't eat pasta or rice. I had a bite of white rice last weekend with a little homemade meatball & I almost curled up in a heap & died. Just the worst feeling. I won't try rice again anytime soon.
Just post-op I couldn't eat beans for a few months. My doctor's list of foods to eat post-op recommended refried beans. Oh my gosh, the horrible gas pains. It was the worst. But now, beans are my friend & when I make them homemade, they make me feel wonderful from head to toe. I made what I call soup beans 2 days ago (pinto beans & southwestern spices) & they are so wonderful & soothing. And cheap!
I don't do well with hamburgers. I take the bun off (can't eat white bread either) but the hamburger is usually just too rich for my tummy. I can have about 3 bites & I am stuffed.
Hope you're doing well on your journey!
I occasionally still have trouble with chicken, but for the most part that intolerance has gotten much better and I eat it pretty frequently. It's just one of those dense/sometimes dry meats that sit heavy in the pouch. I find that when I eat it cold, in a salad, with some SF/low cal dressing it really helps. This might help someone else as well, I find that the moister some of the heavier foods are, the easier they are to tolerate. That is the only food I've had trouble with so far...I've tolerated things like steak, pork, shrimp, fish, etc. really well. I have not touched pasta/rice yet so I don't know about that yet.
Tolerate has different meanings, there are things I could probably eat but don't/won't.
These are things I no longer eat in the order of how much I ate them when I was MO.
