Low Potassium. Liquid or Pill?
My potassium level is 3.3. I used to take pils pre surgery but my PCP just prescribed liquid. Is there any problem with taking potassium in pill form, as I am just 6 weeks post op? Liquid says to take after meals, but because I can't drink anything for 30 minutes after solids, I don't know if I should take it first then eat right after. Suggestions?
I sometimes take a pill after eating. I make sure I do it with a small sip. The danger of drinking after eating is that the liquid will wash the food through your pouch, but a small sip to take meds is okay in my book.
Not sure if there's a difference between the pills and liquid. I know my potassium pill dissolved instantly. Like before I could swallow it. I gagged on it many times. Sucker was hard to get down.

Pills should be fine if you can tolerate taking pills.

Have you tried the liquid, belch horrible taste. If you can swallow pills I'd definitely take them. Your doc can prescribe you potassium pills also, I had them the second round I needed early post-op.
