Too soon for Chinese Buffet?

Lol...my family and Inlaws wanted to go to the buffet last night. So I went, but I ate from a to go box. They let me fill my box with about a cup of meat and it only cost me 2.80 compared to the normal 13.00 buffet price. And you know what? The meal did not taste as good as it used to....the meat was stringy, some of it wouldn't break down in my mouth. Yuck! I used to eat 3 plates full of that crap! What a difference!

Oh yeah...and I had the worst headache! I haven't had a headache since my surgery! Maybe it was from the msg?

You know, its funny cause I don't thinl chinese foos tastes as good as it use to either. I have had ot a couple of times and told my fiancé that I can't eat amymore it just tastes nasty to me now. The place I go to "says" they don't use msg but I don't I'm not cooking.... lol. I guess my taste buds don't like food that's not good for me..lol

I think you got it correct with your title.  Just too soon, if you do it again try seafood (not stringy).  I actually had Chinese buffet for the first time yesterday at lunch and I am 13 mths out.  I have a card from the surgeons office, so they charged me a kids price.  I started with a bowl of broth from the wonton soup, then a small bowl of eggdrop soup.  Then I had a few peapods and 6 tiny shrimp and 2 mushroom caps. I had a normal helping of garlic green beans, I loved It all.  Before my surgery I would have eaten lots of the fried stuff, not now :)

Prior to this, I have had Chinese food, just not a buffet.  I love eggdrop soup.

I was going to say it's a waste of money, but it's cool they let you do it that way. I wouldn't eat from a buffet now because the food usually isn't that great. I do get Chinese takeout and it lasts me forever. I miss lo mein so much, though.

Yeah I think you are right. Take out next time.
