Ferritin levels

I am just over 6 years out from gastric bypass. Now we're preparing to replace both of my knees, so the doctor did some blood work I requested.

I got my Ferritin level (since I know hemoglobin & hematocrit levels usually are good), but I'm not sure if my Ferritin level is good. It's 43 and the range is 8-252. My hemoglobin is around 14 and my hematocrit is around 42. I do NOT take any iron supplements, though I take multivitamins, potassium, B12, D3, Vitamin C, Calcium Citrate, and Biotin.

Thanks,
Susan

43 is ok for ferritin.  It's not fantastic, but it's not bad.

What's your iron level?  You might want to start taking some iron prior to your surgeries, since you'll lose some blood during the operations, of course.

I don't think they've ever checked Iron level, per se. Hemoglobin and hematocrit are in the 14 and 42 range, respectively.
