So I am wondering how much time off of work I will need to take? I know everyone is different, but I mostly have a desk job and wonder how long you guys took?? Thanks :)

I had a lot of energy just after the surgery, but then my energy levels dropped so much, that my Doctor booked me off to work from home for 5 weeks.

I had lots of pain and a longer recovery it took me a month. But I didn't feel myself for another 2 weeks. But my mom and sister where fine right after surgery, like no pain and back to normal in a week.

One week, and if I did not have so much vacation time to burn, I would have gone back on the 3rd or 4th day.

Surgery was Friday 10/11/13. I am scheduled to go back on the 28th. I haven't had any complications per say but I am glad I took that long to get my energy back up and be mord comfortable. Not to mention having the time at home to get used to the food routine, supplements, fluids etc

Surgery was on Thursday and I went back to work on Monday, half days for the first week and then full time after that.  I did not want to miss any work but my Doctor really wanted me to take it easy. So we compromised.  I have a desk job and although I was really tired when I got home from work, I had no problems.  It was good to start my routine immediately.

good luck and follow your body's cues.

I had complications and ended up being off almost three months.

I also have a desk job and I was out 2 weeks.  No pain and no complications.  Just some tightness due to stitches.
