Drinking WINE after RNY

I think getting ulcers is a crapshoot. I drink red wine and I've never had an ulcer.
To be honest, why don't you just stop drinking the wine and see if your pain improves? (I can hear my mum's voice as I type this LOL)
LOL, exactly what my mom would say, too! :)

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

Ulcers are most often caused by a bacteria. Other things can cause them, though. Drinking wine in moderation doesn't usually cause ulcers, but it might make an existing ulcer worse. Of course, just because you have pain in your mid section, that doesn't mean you have an ulcer.
I think giving up the wine for a week or two to see if that helps makes sense. But if you continue to have pain or if the pain is severe, I'd see a doctor.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Thanks for getting back with me so quickly. I think I will not drink wine for a couple of weeks and see if my stomach pain goes away. I'm supposed to go for my yearly physical with my surgeon in Dec. If it does not clear up in a couple of weeks, I'll make an appointment and get it checkd out. I had to have surgery a year after my RNY because I had an internal hernia. This pain is not like the kind of pain that I had with the hernia. This is more of a burning type pain.
