My date is jan 13 2014. what should I be doing to get ready?

Lots of exercise, lots of water, no sodas, cut way back on sweets, start a scrapbook of fabulous clothes you want to be able to wear, places you want to go, and things you want to do.

Document your measurements and take pictures.  One of my friends took a new picture every month standing in the same spot in her house.  It is a fabulous collection to look back on.

Think positive thoughts and enjoy this new opportunity.

Amen to the slow caffeine withdrawal.  The headaches if you go cold turkey are as bad as migraines.

Only if your doctor requires it. The surgeon I used is not against coffee at all. It was given to my husband with his first nutrition tray, post-op and would have been on mine if they'd remembered to order me one the entire time I was in the hospital (I was there less than 24 hours), as it is standard post-op where I had mine as well. 

    

HW333--SW 289--GW of 160 5' 11" woman.  I only know the way I know & when you ask for input/advice, you'll get the way I've been successful through my surgeon & nutritionist. Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

My date is 12/4/13 and I start a 2 week liquid diet on 11/21/13.  My personal goal is to get off the caffiene now, because I think the liquid diet will be hard enough on it's own without going off the caffeine at the same time.  I have also started walking so I can build my strenght up.  Good luck with your surgery!

If your doc is asking you to shed some lbs beforehand, try this, kcongleton.bodybyvi.com it has worked wondesrs for me!

I started drinking water only, no more diet soda. I drank 2 protein shakes a day, one for breakfast and one for lunch, with health snacks in between if I got hungry and made sure I ate exactly the serving size. Then I ate a healthily dinner and measured everything so I was eating the correct service size. I also cut out all white carbs, no pasta, rice, potatoes, bread, etc. I also started exercising, stationary bike. I also gave mysel a cheat day to have something "bad" but not a ton of it. Like I would have 1/2 cup of ice cream or split a piece of cheesecake, or have potatoes, etc.

Start replacing one meal a day with a protein shake. Eventually move up to two. Order sample kits of different protein powders. Just do a google search and you should get a bunch of sites. Make sure it's whey protein isolate.
