So my date is Dec 18th and I am wondering how long did you take off work?  I have a desk job but I need to walk up many stairs.

Thanks

Diane

Initially I  planned to take off one week.  I work from home, sitting on my couch on my laptop.  But I had complications and ended up being off almost three months.

Two weeks plus one day.  Could have gone back in a week, easy.

I took off 4 weeks, but I am a nurse and on my feet alot. I would not have been ready at 2 weeks, energy wise, however everyone is different.

Everyone is different on this.  A lot depends on you and how well you recover, so it's hard to predict based on others' experiences.  I took 2 weeks off and was fine going back.  I don't have a very strenuous job.  Is there a way you could go back and not do the stairs for a while?  You might not be in pain, but you might be very tired very easily.

I was out one week and my husband took two.

Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

I took off a week I wish I would have taken 2. With the holidays right after yours do you normally have those days off anyway? Can you roll them into your time off? You could go back after Christmas or New Year

I also have a desk job but I took 3 weeks off.  Even after that, I have missed a lot of time due to not feeling well.  I have had a lot of nausea.

I am two weeks out if I had a desk job, I would be back. I am a ER nurse in a busy dept. No lifting for one month, I asked to go back starting with some "short shifts" like 8 hrs. I don't think I could do 12 right away. Eating when I go back will be a challenge. Some days there is hardly time to pee!
