Cereal Question!!!!
Between the sugar content, the high carb content, and the fact that cereal (assuming that you eat it the usual way with milk) violates the cardinal rule of post-op life of no drinking with meals, I would say NO, No, and NO.
My surgeon had a very liberal eating plan (soft foods on Day 3), but cereal was not on my "plan" AT ALL. It is one of the things that was on the "avoid as much as possible" list.

You might as well just eat candy bars. Three months out is no time to be slowing down your weight loss and cereal will do that. You went through surgery to lose weight, not to go back to eating things that are designed to keep you craving them.
Eating cereal is fine after you have lost all your weight, are way under your goal and really want to pack some pounds back on. Grains are what they feed to farm animals so that they gain a lot of weight and produce a lot of meat.
You have about eighteen months honeymoon after RNY surgery when you can lose weight easily. After that it is really difficult to lose or maintain your loss.
Take full advantage of this gift you have been granted that will allow you to lose weight quickly and easily. It is a limited time offer and will never be repeated. Follow your plan, lose all of your weight, then lose some more weight for a cushion when the malabsorption honeymoon ends and bounceback regain starts.
I'm afraid I have to agree with the others. Even after five years, cereal in milk is the one thing guaranteed to make me dump HARD - even the "healthy" cereal. I do miss it, but totally not worth the sickness. Maybe you could try putting a few raisins in some cottage cheese? I know it's not the same, but may be a healthier replacement.

I was told a high protein, low sugar cereal, like Kashi Go Lean Crunch was okay occasionally as a treat, just to be sure to only add a small amount of milk, just enough to wet it. If you only add a small amount of milk, it will basically be absorbed by the cereal, so then it isn't like having a liquid with a solid. This is just based on what my centre has told me.
