Losing slowly now
So i am almost 5 months out and I only weight myself at the doctor's or at the nut's. As my appoitments are once a month I have always lost something when I weight myself but for the pass 2 months I have only been lonsing like 6 or 7 lbs. And the month before that was only 11 lbs. Granted that I haven't been able to exercise due to some scarring problems (which will hopefully are gone now because I had all my stitches removed) but even so!! I feel like anyone could lose 6 or 7 lbs in a month, even without the surdgery and it makes me so angry that I am not losing as fast now!! Is it normal or did my loss really slowed down?? I am so worrief because I still want to lose 50-60 lbs and I am really afraid that I won't, at least not at this speed!!
You are doing very well! I lost less than 10# a month from the very beginning (!), but even if I am a slow loser,I know I would not have been as successful without the surgery because I could not get the weight off at all before...and what I did lose always came back (with extra). You are still early on, don't let a slow-down get you downhearted. Are you tracking carbs, and staying up on protein and fluids? Exercise is good when you can start. Stalls and slow-downs happen but you are on a path for life now. Keep on doing what you know you should and you will get there
Thank you!! I know what you mean about losing before and it was the same for me! I am tracking everything and doing really well on sticking to my plan (surprisingly because I could NEVER follow a diet for long) and I am really looking foward to joining a gym and work out, I know that it will speed things up a little! I guess I am just scared that I won't lose all I want to in the time I have the malabsortion...
Ha... AlaskaSusan and I had surgery 5 days apart... and have lost the same amount of weight! -- and I was going to say the same thing. LOL
You are ONLY 5 months out. Just press on. Just as long as it keeps coming off :-)
Based on my own experience, I'd say you're pretty much where you should be. I had my surgery in mid-April. The first month, I dropped nearly 30 lbs. Then, for three months after that, the loss was right around 10 lbs. a month. Since then, I've been in single digits (7-9 lbs./month). But it's coming off steadily and I feel great. My clothes show a huge difference. I started off at a tight size 20 and am now rockin' a size 6 (which blows my mind). Keep doing what you're doing. You'll be fine. Adding back the exercise will no doubt help things along.
