Vanilla protein grape shake
Hi Guys, on day four of the liquid diet. It's going ok so far. I am drinking a vanilla protein shake from powders that I added some sugar free grape drops to. It is really tasty and a great way to break the routine up. I am losing weight pretty good roght now and expect to be down between 15 and 20 pounds on the liquid diet. Also got some Swanson low sodium beef broth that tasted really good. Hope everyone has a great day.
Sounds like you're doing great. It usually gets a little easier after the first three or four days.
Adding stuff to your protein powder can keep you from getting bored and can make not-so-great shakes taste a lot better. Be creative with it.

I bet it is. I did not go grocery shopping and mostly managed to avoid food on my liquid diet.
Just stay focused. I think the liquid pre op diet might be the hardest part of having WLS. I mean, there are lots of hard parts post op, but pre op, you have a normal stomach and anyone would find a liquid diet hard, but then you also have the thoughts about all the things you're never going to get to eat again after surgery. Of course, most of those things, whatever they are, you will be able to eat eventually in small amounts if you want to. But all the anxiety and stress often makes people want to eat more, not drink a couple protein shakes a day.
It will all be worth it and in the end, this is a very short period of time. You can do it.

Hey! Yay! ...finally, something that has gotten easier for me!!! In my early days in the grocery store, I remember having to avert my eyes from the "no-nos" to avoid the temptations and bad feelings. Now, I am happy to say, that I don't have to do that anymore, and I don't have that yucky feeling. It's a low whisper from far away now.
Your post made me realize that. Ahhh. Thanks! I'm sure - I know - it does get easier... in some ways.
