Stall or maintenance?

So I am 6 1/2 month post RNY surgery and for the last month and half I have been fluctuating up and down 8 pounds! I am SO discouraged! Here is an example of a typical day:

Breakfast: Premier Protein chocolate shake

Snack: 1 string cheese with 1/2 oz. of lunch meat wrapped around it

Lunch: 1/2 c. Tuna salad (made with 1/2 tbsp light mayo and relish)

Dinner: 1/2 c. turkey chili with 5 saltine crackers

Snack: either a hard boiled egg or string cheese

I'm usually at just under 1,000 calories a day.

I drink nearly 80 oz. of water a day, and work out 3-4 times per week for 30-45 minutes (treadmill, bike, or eliptical).

Any thoughts??

Try bumping up to 1200 for a couple of weeks and see if that moves the scale.

Stall. I would not up your calories any more at only 6 months out. I would up the cardio to an hour. Elliptical is best.

I was thinking that my body is getting used to my current exercise routine. I'll give it a try. Thanks!

I would increase the exercise. I got to goal quickly and exercised 60 to 90 minutes at least 6 days a week.

I would kill the saltines.  No need for them at this point.  Up the protein.  I aim for 100 grams of protein and 100 oz of fluids a day.  At this point the only thing that you should be concentrating on is getting in your protein and fluids.

I am sure this is a stall.  I've heard of longer so try not to be discouraged.  Six months is notorious for weight loss slowing down.  You are far from done.

I am right there next to ya!! I will be 7 months post op on the 11th and I haven't lost anything since December. I usually get I'm about 800 calories a day and I'm just not sure what I should be doing!!!! I know it's so frustrating because I'm not where I want to be!

I'm sorry that you too are struggling!  Keep in touch, and let me know when your stall breaks!

P.S. You're from Gonzales Louisiana? I lived in Greenwell Springs for about 5 years and taught at Gonzales Primary!

From Thanksgiving til 2 weeks ago, I kinda slipped & wasn't doing what I needed to do (primarily too many carbs). For about a month I went up & down about 1/2 lb. Last week I cut all carbs out and ate like I was supposed to and I lost 5.3 that week
