gastric reflux
If you are not too far from the original surgeon's office, I (personally) would go there. You should at the very least call them. If you are too far away (like, if you've moved), I would look up another Bariatric Surgeon.
ETA - I would also google something like "Esophagus Pain after Gastric Bypass" or "Reflux Pain after Gastric Bypass"..... Good Luck !!

You could consult with your surgeon, however, since you had RNY in 2009 I suspect you would be referred to a GI specialist. While surgeons are great cutters and may be able to help, I would head to the GI.
Are you in any medication for your GERD? I'm sure you probably know this, but gastric juices are very erosive and can cause serious problems in your esophagus, pharynx, larynx, vocal cords, and even your lungs. Have you consulted with your PCP about whom they suggest you see?
Wishing you relief soon!

I called my RNY surgeon's office yesterday and spoke to his nurse. She made me an appointment with the GI that had done my post op colon and endoscopy prior to surgery. I'm going to ask the GI to do testing also to see if I'm gluten intollerant because I've had a lot of symptoms that make be think that I could be gluten intollerant. Thank you so much for your help. God Bless!!
