Gift Idea Help
My friend is having bypass next week. I personalize things, as in etched glass. I was wanting to make a big casserole dish with her name on the bottom, but don't want to bring food to the hospital as she can't take it home to freeze. Any fun ideas on what to put in to make a "bariatric hospital stay" casserole? Like scarves or what?

Lip balm. Some protein shake samples. Herbal tea - maybe peppermint or ginger, which is good for an upset tummy.

Thanks! I'm talking all suggestions this is going to be soo cute. I'll post a picture of it when done, if I can ever figure out how to do that! I am etching now, and will buy supplies to fill it tomorrow. I am going to try and make up an "ingredients" list or something to tie the theme together. Thanks all!

Crystal light packets, sugar free jello and pudding boxes for when she first goes home, mouthwash for when you're NPO and want to rinse to get a fresh mouth. Lightly scented or nonscented body lotion (if you are nauseous afterwards, scents can make you barfy.) The lip balm is a great idea!
Post surgery, I placed a huge brandy shaped glass on our dining room table. Each time I lose a pound, we put a beautiful glass marbe in the glass. My kids cheer and want to be the one to toss it in. When I reach goal, I'm going to make it my trophy.... perhaps float a candle or buy a fancy wee fish. Perhaps you could etch an encouraging message for your friend...like... Way to Go! or You can do it! or You did it!
Debbie, glad to be losing my marbles! 66 and counting
