lower "charlie horse pain" just above hip bone

I've been having a charlie horse type pain off and on just above my left hip bone. It comes and goes, but when it comes--sometimes it will almost double me over. Then it goes away. It doesn't come when I'm doing exercise usually, just at weird random times. I'm wondering if it is gas? Or maybe a hernia?

Anyone have anything like this?

Should add I'm 3 years post surgery :)
