So happy today I finally lost a total of 50 pounds!  I'm 2 months and 1 week post op.  I just hope the next 50 comes off this quickly!

Also, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on here, I don't post much, but reading everyone else's post these past few months has helped me tremendously!

Congratulations! That's a nice milestone to reach. Keep doing what you're doing, and you'll see the next 50 depart as well!

Congratulations! That is amazing. Keep up the good work. Follow the plan. Drink water, drink/eat protein, take your supplements, and exercise. Good luck!

Very happy for you!!

Because you said it, I'm going to address part two of your celebration, but don't want you to view it negatively, just reality. The fact that you lost almost a pound a day is AMAZING but do not expect that the next two months, especially given how light you were to begin with. I am almost shocked at how fast you lost given the size you were to begin with, but don't start beating yourself up or thinking you are doing something wrong if you find a slower rate of loss the next 60 days. And if you keep on at a lb a day, then YAY FOR YOU, but I'd hate to see your joy dampened by reality when you are doing things right, loss still slows typically as time move on.

Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

Yes, I know you are probably right, my weight loss has already slowed down quite a bit. I lost about 35 pounds in the first 3 weeks, since then it has steadily slowed down. Right now I seem to be losing about 3 to 4 pounds a week. I think a lot of the reason I lost so much so fast was because I was extremely nauseous the first 6 weeks and had a hard time getting enough in. Now I'm getting all my required protein in everyday, but I don't eat anything extra, once I hit my protein goal, I'm done for the day. My belly just doesn't like food much anymore. Which I guess is a good thing, but I hope to feel better with eating eventually.

Anyway, sorry for rambling, just wanted to explain myself a little  :-)

Hi.  It sounds like your head is in a good place, which is key with this surgery and all that comes after it.  I'm glad to hear that while you're enjoying the initial rapid weight loss, you know it probably won't continue at that pace forever.

I hope this isn't presumptuous, but I looked at your ticker and saw that you and I are almost identical when it comes to where we started and where we want to go.  I realize everyone is different, but I thought it might be helpful to see how my weight loss has gone, month by month.  In three weeks, I'll be a year out and I'm only three pounds from goal, so I've seen the ebbs and flows.  Please know I wish you the best of luck!

My rate has been:

Start - 237 (Surgery on April 14, 2013)

Month 1 (April 14-May 13) - 28 lbs. (209)

Month 2 (May 14-June 13) - 11 lbs. (198)

Month 3 (June 14-July 13) - 14 lbs. (184)

Month 4 (July 14-August 13) - 10 lbs. (174)

Month 5 (August 14-September 13) - 9 lbs. (165)

Month 6 (September 14-October 13) - 7 lbs. (158)

Month 7 (October 14-November 13) - 9 lbs. (149)

Month 8 (November 14-December 13) - 8 lbs. (141)

Month 9 (December 14-January 13) - 4 lbs. (137)

Month 10 (January 14-February 13) - 4 lbs. (133)

Month 11 (February 14-March 13) - 3 lbs. (130)
