What to pack?
You don't need much. You may want a robe to cover the back assets when you are walking. They gave me slipper socks but if you have a comfortable pair of slippers you may want to pack them. I brought my tablet but never used it. Some doctors want you to bring your CPAP if you use one. I did but never used it. Since my surgery was first thing in the morning I wore sweats and wore them home. I don't own a cell phone but it would have been nice since I couldn't call long distance from my hospital phone. Things like toothbrush, paste hospital provided. I wouldn't worry about makeup but a hairbrush is pretty necessary. If you do happen to forget something the hospital usually has it. Good luck tomorrow!
Don't forget the Chapstick! It really helps. An extra blanket from home and pillow too made my stay better.
I brought an outfit (the one I wore in for the one I wore home) a picture of my family to look at when they could not be with me, a pillow to hold on my stomach for the ride home, my toothbrush, deodorant and a ready to go protein shake to sip on the second day.
“Let someone love you just the way you are – as flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you sometimes feel, and as unaccomplished as you think you are. To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.”― Marc Hack

everything will work out good for you but there is not much you will need the first day after that a book and thats about it.
Pack light! What you wear to the hospital is what you will go hone in. Nothing tight at the waist! You'll have tender areas there from the procedure. You'll get the grip socks from the hospital for walking. Essentials are; chapstik, pillow, hair brush and GasX for the gas you'll have after surgery. I took my small DVD player and watched movies. You're limited on the hospital TV channels. I got bored. You can take a robe but I chose to just use another hospital gown to use as a robe by putting it on backwards. My hospital suggested this.
The less you take the better. You're not gonna need anything else. I only lived 40 min from the hospital so I did not need any protein shakes. Don't bother if you are close. As I said you're just not going to use anything else. Good Luck and let us know how it goes!!
