You would be able to eat larger amounts and it would take a larger amount for you to feel full.

Your pouch is supposed to stretch a little over time.  It's very unusual for it to stretch more than normal, though.

I agree with what was said above.  I have heard of people stretching back to normal (not sure if that is really possible or not), but I really do not see how.  If I over eat at all, I get sick and vomit and feel like I cannot breath.

So do yourself a favor and don't overeat and don't stretch it.

According to my surgeon,it is NOT possible to stretch the pouch out to anything even close to the size of the original stomach.  What can happen, however, is that if people overheat consistently over a long period of time, the stoma can be stretched significantly, and what they end up with is basically a pouch that just flows into the intestine, which is going to up give little to no restriction and may not send any "full" signals because the intestine wasn't designed to NEED to send that type of signal.

The pouch is designed to stretch over time - the size at one year should be the size for life (about 8-10 oz or so)   It is very rare for a pouch to stretch a lot more than this.

What is more common is that people overeat and stretch the stoma (the opening at the intestine end) - this is almost impossible to fix too and can get so bad that the intestine just becomes an extension of the pouch, allowing people to eat and eat without restriction.

Measuring/weighing food and not overeating to the point of being stuffed is the key to keeping restriction for many years and it is possible, as several long term vets on here can attest!
