Rude comments
Actually had a morbidly obese coworker take a jab last week.
Could not help what poured out of my pie hole......
Someone was complimenting me on my weight loss and we were discussing the REAL benefits of losing weight---health, stamina and longevity.
Said coworker chimed in with " But don't you have all that nasty, disgusting hanging skin ? "
My word vomit began and I caught myself before slapping her with the bat wings on my arms----my reply was simple " Much less skin since I started cutting rude people out of my life !" " About 400 pounds of useless skin gone now !" and I walked away......
I feel much lighter now......

Some people always have to find the negative. . . I'm sure she's jealous. It is actually a thought that crosses my mind frequently (living in FL where you can't as easily hid your skin in tank tops and shorts). . .I feel like people think, yeah, she's small, but I'd hate to have those legs! I am wearing a size 2 now, but my thighs have some loose skin and it's not pretty. I'm super self consious about it.
My best friends (not so much after this convo actually) reply when I told her I want this surgery was "don't you feel like your cheating by getting it done"... uuumm I didn't realize that loosing weight and being healthy and living to see the age of 40 was some sort of a test tyvm! It is hard to not go into full lecture mode when people say stuff. You did good by walking away! She is likely a bit jealous, as she is big herself, but the thought of the surgery scares her so she has to try and bring you down to make herself feel better.
Sometimes rude comments like this come from a place of fear. She might be afraid of having "nasty, disgusting hanging skin" herself and that fear materialized in a really unfortunate comment to you :(
