Popcorn

What kind do you think is the best.  I know it is a luxury but I am addicted to a cup in the evenings.  I have the calories left.  I need the crunch.  Is it too bad to do microwaved popcorn?

I have bags of 100 calorie Orville Redenbacher. I also bought a microwave bowl for popcorn at Target. Because you just add kernels and no oil, it is a bunch more popcorn for the same calories. It's a pretty good snack, as long as it isn't popped in oil or slathered with some high calorie topping.

Popcorn has some fiber, a wee bit of protein, and the carbs are better than refined white carbs or starches like potatoes.

You just look for Orville 100 calorie popcorn at Kroger?  I can find the bowl at target.  This is great news.  i am an addict.  I need to join Popcorn Anonymous or Popcorn Overeaters etc.  I never ate it before now.  It must be the crunch and slight salt.  I crave it at 8:00 every might!   Thanks for the super tip.

You can pop your own without all the chemicals by using a brown paper lunch bag and a 1/4 c of popcorn kernels.  Simply put a quarter cup in the bag, turn down three times tightly and pop upright in your microwave (about 2 min in mine).

I cannot eat popcorn or crackers, however.  For me, they are definitely a trigger food.

Skinny pop. ..it's pre popped,  sea salt flavor,  38 calories per cup. It's delicious! My husband is a popcorn addict and he has replaced the oily buttery movie popcorn crap with this and loves it! I just have to be careful to measure out my 1 cup serving and then put the bag away, otherwise I will eat too much

Skinny Pop or Smartfood Delight White Cheddar. There are more brands that are also around 35-40 cal per cup. These are all pre popped in bags. I bought big bags at Costco then realized I couldn't eat just 2 cups. I started binging on them so now I have omitted them completely from my diet. I am a popcorn addict and crave it all the time.

I have a Stir Crazy popper and make my own.  I can control everything that way, and it's super easy to use and clean.  Popcorn popped with a little coconut oil is delish.

I usually buy the old fashioned bag of kernels and use a hot air popper and then some butter flavored salt ****asionally, I use a small amount of real butter(never margarine)).

As a treat, I will occasionally do a little bit of a regular "butter flavored" microwave popcorn, and although I like it, I have a hard time justifying the extra calories for the "artificial butter flavored grease" (from an old Bloomsbury cartoon).
