refocus help needed
I havent been on here in ages! I'm 2 1/2 years post op. I have about 45 lbs left til my goal. Im down from 397 lbs to around 218lb or so. I need to get back with the program and take better care of myself. Since having my son, who will be 1 next month, I haven't been eating right, drinking water enough or taking my vitamin supplements. I work full time, go to school and have 2 children. I will be starting my vitamins as soon as I get home. My bbiggest thing is eating right when im so busy....I know I should find time but sometimes it's hard. Excuses aside, we all know most of what I said is just that... what are are some easy to manage tips and ideas so that i can refocus and get these last pounds off...more importantly just getting it together. ..
Thank you folks!
Make a list of easy, quick, yummy healthy foods. Then go shopping and stock your kitchen with them. For me, those are things like Greek yogurt, string cheese, hummus and raw veggies (I cut the veggies up ahead of time), apples with almond butter, protein bars and protein shakes. Think things you can grab and eat without a lot of prep needed. Things you can even eat in the car while driving from work to school or whatever.

I like to make giant pots of stuff on a sunday. I keep some to eat through the week in a pinch and freeze the rest in small tupper wear. I do a lot of chilli variations. This week I made some asian style ground beef with veggies. Its very convient to grab for work. for breakfast I throw an egg and a little milk in a tupperwear dish, scramble, and toss in the microwave for a minute. Then throw salsa, black beans and cheese on top and heat it up at work. I do a piece of fruit and a cheese stick a lot. Also ham and cheese roll ups with a pickle. I am a big grab and go person. I have a lot going on and I can too easily slip into hitting a drive through or restaurant. You can also prefreeze raw crock pot meals. Throw boneless chicken thighs, taco seasoning, corn, beans, salsa in a bag and freeze it and when you want an easy meal throw it in a crock pot on low before leaving for work. When you get home you have a chipotle like meal...add cheese and sour cream! I have even been known to go to chipotle and order burriot bowls with no rice and taking it home reportioning into small tupperwear and freezing that!

I don't have children to demand my time but we do own a B&B and I know how hard it is to take care of my meals and vitamins. I hate the hassle of stopping and fixing a meal, however, you have to do it. So…figure your plan for the week. Buy your food and cook what you can ahead of time. Go back to using a small dish or bowl and maybe you could try to eat before the kids so you are finished and can give them full attention. Go back to your pre op diet. Stop eating when you are no longer hungry.
Make sure you get your full nights sleep, I've been told that you need it to lose weight.
I am a grazer so I like to have a dip, such as, cottage cheese, lo fat cream cheese, ranch dressing seasoning, diced celery, a few drops of hot sauce, and minced ****tail shrimp for veggies. If I have everything ready, a small portion will carry me though. A small bunch of grapes or half an orange do the same.
