Unexpected Side Benefit

I'm 10 months out from my RNY and I just realized that my skin tags are shrinking.  I had a couple on my neck and one pretty fleshy one that is very near where my necklace rests and it's just about gone.  Not something I was expecting! :D

I had an Endocrinologist tell me that skin tags are a sign of insulin resistance.

Had mine burned off a few years ago and now since surgery no new ones !

WIN WIN !

Got mine burned off too,

My diabetic BF had a ton!  Interesting to learn they are a sign of insulin resistance.

I knew that they were a sign of metabolic disorder/insulin resistance, but whenever I had a fasting blood sugar test, it was always normal or on the low side. I also saw online that they could be associated with PCOS, but I never had symptoms of that, either. There must have been something going on though. I'm just glad they're going away. I have one on my boob that I'm watching like a hawk now!

I have a lot of them -- I hope I have the same side benefit after my surgery!

I had a couple, and they too shrank! Never knew they were related to metabolic disease. No reason to freeze or burn them off now, they are so small. I am 4 years out. Congrats!

Warmly,

Ducky
