Waiting is the hardest part

I have jumped through all the hoops that my insurance requires. I have lost 24lbs when my surgeon said 20 and everything was submitted to insurance on Monday. Im trying to hold still waiting for the approval to come through.

Does anyone know if there is an average for how long insurance takes to approve? I have BCBS Federal. Another girl at work said hers took a week and a half.

Just curious.

Insurance required what I thought was a long, six-month waiting period. Then, boom ! the go-ahead and surgery date was all within a couple of weeks of each other. That's when I wanted time to stand still !

Seems like somewhere between two days and two weeks is normal.

I was anticipating a two week wait, like my surgeon's office said. However, my approval came in less than 24 hours. No pre-surgical stipulations (diet monitoring/weight loss). I have Anthem BCBS.

Wow! 2 days thats amazingly fast! I would be really happy if I got a call today, that would be 5 days but I'm guessing it will be next week sometime. I'm just so ready to get the surgery done!

I have Aetna and my wife and I both took just under 2 weeks from the time they submitted all the paperwork till we got ins approval.

HW: 440.5 RNY 2/18 (Feb - 27, Mar -21, Apr -11, May -15.5, Jun - 12, Jul -14.5, Aug -9, Sept -11, Oct 6.2)
