Menu for the day.
I am so sorry if you felt beat up on. We all maintain our weights differently. Your way has worked well for you and it works well for some people. You are obviously a mindful eater and that is what it takes whether you write it down or not. Some people don't have to track. I think it's great that you are a long term post op and are maintaining. Please don't get run off by everyone. Long term post ops are rare on here and I like to hear what has worked for them whether it is different than others or not. Tracking/mindful eating/high protein low carb/ whatever works I like hearing everyone's stories.
O boy... Sensitive much? The OP is an adult, looks like she can handle hersel. Why do you need to feel bad for her? You guys are related?

Thank you for explaining. There are days that if i don't think ahead about food i may forget to eat or even drink water and low blood sugar reminds me of that... Just few episodes like that makes me more mindful about what and when i eat. Low blood sugar is not only big issue by itself - but long term can cause weight gain...and overall very bad consequences. At 12 years post op RNY- you dont have issues with that? If so you are very lucky.
Glad you found way back to OH.

I am 12 years post op, actually 10 pounds below my goal so I hope you realize this post is said with concern and caring. When I see posts about what is on the menu today it scares me for long term success. My days pre RYN started with, well what do I eat today and my life pretty much revolved around my food. Post op I have to remember to eat. I do plan my exercise for the day, avid biker. My point is,dear people don't let food be your first thought if you want long term success
For some people, a failure to plan is a plan to fail. People who carefully plan their menus, provided they are eating in a protein forward manner, are doing their best to avoid the potential minefields of getting overly hungry and veering off the rails. It doesn't mean they are letting their lives revolve around food.
Prior to surgery, lots of us tried freestyle eating with disastrous results. I think it is very sensible to have a plan, especially for those who are early out.
I think your last sentence is a sweeping generalization and inaccurate to boot. It isn't as if the planners among us are planning donuts, soda, and chips for meals.

These people are not being negative. They, including myself, are expressing their opinions in response to your opinion.
Did you really think that you would come back to OH after 12 years, start a post basically calling people "food obsessed" and thus criticizing them, and think that they (myself included) would say "oh. ok."? No. People simply disagree.
Disagreement does not equal negativity.

Just in case you're still here, the abbreviation is RNY, not RYN. I noticed that you spelled it that way twice so it's not a simple typo. Unless they used a different abbreviation when you had your surgery ten years ago.
