Slow weight loss
RNY on Sept 4. Highest weight 316. Surgery day wt 284, 3 1/2 weeks out today's weight 268. I feel I am losing weight very slow .2 .4 etc. I am doing everything I am suppose to do. Weight everything, the only thing is I can't see it taking 30 minutes to eat 3oz of food per meal, as much as I time my self it takes 15 to 20 minutes even if I chew chew chew! I worry I have stretched my pouch (crazy thought) by drinking water. I also walk a mile a day sometimes a little more. So why is my weight loss so slow. Can't say I am the most active person thought.

I got mine done a month before you (Aug 8th). It does seem slow - it even seems slow now and I'm (almost) 50 pounds down. You haven't stretched your pouch or anything like that - right around two or three weeks we all stall - I don't think I lost any weight for almost two weeks, but it's been consistent since then. Just keep your head up and keep trudging along and you'll be fine. :)
4.5 pounds a week is not slow. Just keep following your plan and you will be fine. Relax.

Try to consider percentage of excess weight loss as opposed to pounds. So, for example, if your ideal weight is 135 lbs (I am guessing) that means your excess weight is 149 lbs. Divide 20/14= 13.4% 13% is pretty fantastic in less than a month. The average loss is only 60-80% of excess body weight in a year so, 13% in a month is great!! Your body is healing as well, you must give the tool time.
You can't stretch your pouch by drinking water. and you've lose 16 lbs in 3.5 weeks. That's not slow weight loss. That's normal weight loss.

Yes that is normal weight loss. I know it's easy to become frustrated when you have read about people that lose 30-40 pounds the first month. I don't think that is most people. If it was that easy to stretch your pouch, there would be no point,we would all have stretched pouches. Good Luck!

I think your loss rate sound great! I remember and still am having stalls every few weeks, but the way I look at it is that yes, I may be loosing slower than the average, but maybe my skin wont be so deflated either? Try and see all the positive, like when was the last time you lost that much weight that fast etc... I know it is hard to not compare to others rates but we have to remember that its no how fast we get from A to B but that we get there!
