Slowing weight loss

Hello everyone! Hope all is well. I have a quick question about weight loss slowing down. I am almost 5 months out and have only lost 8 lbs in about the last 3 weeks. I expected this to slow down a lot, but I just want to make sure in still on track and this is normal. My dietician had me start introducing very small amounts of whole grain/whole wheat and I am finally feeling better after my gallbladder surgery so I am walking a lot more for exercise and I am meeting about 60-70 grams of protein in. I am not cheating or anything like that. My calories are still between 5-600. I'm just wanting to check in about this with others and their plans as well. Thank you!!!

The rate of weight loss depends mainly on how heavy you are, not how long ago you had surgery.  For example, at 5 months out I was still 100 pounds overweight so my weekly loss might have been higher than someone who was also 5 months out but only 50 pounds overweight.  I'm also not a big fan of looking at a period of time as short as 3 weeks as a trend.

All that said, everything you posted looks perfectly on track: your protein, your calories, and your rate of loss (over 2.5 pounds per week).  I wouldn't change a thing.

I am also 5 months out and my weight loss is slowing big time. I also eat around 500-600 calories per day. Walk and do weight training. I was hoping to be under 200 by now but am still at 211 (from 295) so you have lost more than I have at this point. I still have 56lbs to goal and really wanted to be at goal by Feb 2015! Maybe some old timers can help us out here with some good advice.

So now I'm curious about both of you and your weight loss plans. I know that every doctor and every dietician do things a smidge different than the next. I'm curious how much exercise and what daily food/protein intake looks like for you guys. I know that speed of weight loss and amount have some relation to where you start and how much you have to go before goal, but I think our plans and our behavior play a part too. :)

Also- my ticker shows from the highest overall weight. I have lost 74 since surgery.
